You can change where the location pin for an individual property is showing online at the request of an agent if the pin is in the wrong place. If an agent comes to you to say a property isn't showing in the right search, this may be why.

Why would this need updating?
Sometimes the agents' software may send us the location of the property in a different town with a similar address. This will mean the property doesn't show in the correct search and won't go out in the correct alerts.
How do I update this?
You can update the location of a property in Rightmove Plus. Find the property in the property list and go to the edit page - details.
You will need to move the location pin on the map to where the blue circle is. If this is wrong or the agent wants it on the property specifically, you can ask the agent where on the map it should be and move it to the correct location.
When you're happy the pin is in the correct place, go to street view, click "match with house pin" and then click "Save & continue".
If the agent uses a software feed to upload and update their properties, they will need to enter the latitude and longitude coordinates below the map into their software in order for the change to be permanent. If this isn't done, the listing will revert back to the original location as the software will still be sending us the wrong data.
If the agent is unsure where to update this in their software, they will need to get in touch with the feed provider directly.
Street View vs Map View
If the street view is wrong, try moving the pin away from the house and to the road and this may show a different image. The street view map is powered by Google - if there are no images, it could be that the Google map car hasn't been down that road or isn't permitted access.
You can remove the street view or map altogether at the request of the agent by unticking the boxes in Rightmove Plus. Once unticked, this can take up to 1 hour to disappear from Rightmove public site.
Note: To view this on the iOS app, the user needs to click the street view icon on the map view (old design is on the left, new design is on the right):
Added on Dates
Sometimes, due to the co-ordinates of a property being incorrect, the Agent will ask if we can amend the added on date of the property to re-alert it to the right Consumers. The alerts are based on pin location and postcode, so sometimes the property can go out in the wrong alerts if the pin is incorrect.
If we know where the old pin was and can compare it to the new one, we can make a judgement call based on the region searches the property appears in. Thus if the region has changed we can look at amending the added on date.
We need to find the property ID then use the alert by postcode report here to check what region the alerts have gone out in.
After inputting in the property ID this will bring up the region and postcode area the alerts have been sent out to. From the screenshot below, we can see the property pin is located in the MK postcode area, meaning the alerts were sent to the Buckinghamshire region, as Milton Keynes is part of Buckinghamshire.
If we don't know where the old pin was (it's already been changed when the partner makes contact) and if they use a feed, we can find it by following the below steps:
1) Go into Atlas > RTDF > View Call History > Search
2) Add the following filters:
Filter by call family: 'property'
4) To find the old pin co-ordinates, hit CTRL+F on your keyboard to enter search mode, and search for 'latitude'. This will bring up the location of the pin when it was first put on site, the longitude will follow this. Copy and paste the latitude and longitude into grid reference finder to bring up the location. You can then compare this pin to the correct location. If you think it went out in the wrong alerts, you can set the property as new to send it back out to consumers.
