What is a Video Tour?
Video tours are pre-recorded with a camera usually created by the Estate Agent. These tours provide the consumer with another way to view the house before requesting an in-person viewing.
Video tours can be viewed on all platforms (desktop, app and mobile website). If this isn't visible on the app, please ensure the agent has loaded an embedded link.
Both a Video & Virtual Tour can show on the App, providing that we have received the virtual tour has been created by one of the below supplies (see limits below).
What is a Virtual Tour?
Virtual and Interactive Tours are similar to Google street view, created by a third party so that a user can click the arrows to navigate around the property at their own pace. More common examples of these tours are generated through Matterport and Giraffe360.
A Virtual Tour can be viewed on all platforms (desktop, app and mobile website). If this isn't visible on the app, please ensure the agent has loaded an embedded link. There may be some virtual tour developers that our app doesn't support yet - please raise this with the SA team.
On App, virtual tours will not appear in the image gallery. Instead, they will show below the property description under the Virtual Tour tab.
How to upload a Video/Virtual tour
If the agent uses a software to upload their properties, then the Virtual/Video tour will need to be input via their software.
If not, the agent can copy an embedded link to the tour in the property's "media" tab on Rightmove Plus.
When adding a Virtual/Video tour please ensure that the content is hosted online. If the agent uses YouTube or Vimeo, the content will be embedded in the Property Details page and viewable within the property listing. They can also share an externally hosted link. For example, the software provider may give a URL or may host Virtual Tours on the agents own website. In that case the Virtual/Video Tour will appear in a separate pop-up window.
Are there any limits?
A tour needs to be hosted externally to show on Rightmove. Any limits will depend on the hosting website the agent uses. We suggest Youtube and Vimeo.
We will only accept Virtual Tours from the below providers, in order to show on the App's:
- Matter Port
- All Round the House
- Eye Spy 360
- Cloud Pano
- Vieweet
- Kuula
- Property Exposure
- Verismart
- Giraffe 360
- Holofy
- AB Digital UK
- Matareal
Only 1 virtual tour and/or 1 video tour at a time can be displayed within the App. The agent can have multiple on the website but the app will only show one.
The Video/Virtual tour isn't showing
CTC would investigate this. Please ensure the agent has used an embedded link when adding a tour to the property. By not using an embedded link will cause the video tour not to appear on our mobile app.
If the video is hosted externally, please ensure the content is made public. Anything on a private account won't be available.
Where will a video appear on the search page?
We can't move the location of a video- it will automatically appear in the 4th slot within the images on the listing.
This means that if the property is Premium Listed and shows less images, the video might not show on the main search results page.
