One of the many benefits of having a My Rightmove account is being able to save your favourite properties. To save consumers time of having to start from scratch to find a property they've seen before, they can save it to their account to come back to later, or share with family and friends. This article will explain how saved properties work and how to manage them in your account.

TABLE OF CONTENTS

How do I save a property?

  • Each property listing will have a heart icon which you can select from either your search results page or from the property details page. See the example screenshots below with the heart icon highlighted.

  • To save a property listing, click the heart icon and the colour will change to red. This will then save to your My Rightmove account for you to come back to. See the example screenshot below.

Where can I view my saved properties?

  • Once you're logged into your My Rightmove account, in the top right-hand corner of the website homepage, click the link that says 'My Rightmove'. See the screenshot below.

  • A side menu will pop up showing the different sections of your account with the first option being 'Saved Properties'. Click the link to 'View all' and you'll be taken through to your list of saved properties for residential sales and lettings, overseas and commercial. See the example screenshots below.

As part of our drive to make My Rightmove more scalable and easy to use, we are merging together the saved properties and property lists features. Phase 1 one of this has been deployed, where the My Rightmove homepage widget now displays both together. A main saved properties section exists, linking you to all your saved properties, with any lists created also appearing within the same space. This essentially renders the main lists page obsolete, though it will remain live until the full saved properties/lists integration is completed. User testing (and click data) showed that users weren't really clicking on the individual saved properties that will now no longer appear. This change will bump the component below, Track property, up the page so we may see an increase in engagement with this. (last updated 01/12)

  • If you click on the display address (see screenshot below) for the property listing card in your account, it will take you straight through to the full advertisement.

Managing your saved properties

You can remove, send to a friend, view on a map and add notes to your saved properties from your My Rightmove account. Note: the create a list limit for saved properties is 25, and each list has a limit of 50 properties each. If the user tries to add more lists/properties than these limits, they will be faced with an error message:

  • In the top left-hand you will need to select properties.

  • This then allows you to select the property/properties of your choice, this adds them into a folder at the bottom which allows sharing.

The Saved Property Map View only has the capacity to show the 10 most recently saved properties. Consumers will need to use the main Saved Properties page to view all of their saved properties and property lists.

Removing a saved property

  • To remove a property, you need to select ‘select properties’ options first, this will then allow you to highlight the ones you wish to remove.
  • Your selection will go into a folder as seen at the bottom of the page in the below screenshot. Once you have added all the properties you can then delete them.
